88% viscose, 12% mulberry silk.

Crafted from a superfine crêpe Italian yarn, this garment has been knitted with a double thickness for added body and structure, whilst still retaining a luxurious drape and a dry hand feel.

Europe: 3-5 working days

USA: 6-7 working days (import duties covered on this slower service) or 3 working days Express

Please be aware that for all International customers with the exception of the USA, import duties are payable upon the arrival of the parcel in your country.

For the USA we are able to cover the import duties at the point of export so this is included in the free shipping profile via Royal Mail International. Please note that we also offer free shipping to the US via FedEx, a faster service of 3 working days instead of 6-7 working days, however, we are NOT ABLE TO COVER THE IMPORT DUTIES when shipping via FedEx, so if you choose the faster service, please note that import duties will be payable upon the arrival of the parcel in your country.

Clever construction for unbroken stripe flow

The shaping on this dress has been achieved in an unusual manner, by placing the shaping seams at the centre front and back. Considerable work has also gone into the matching up of the stripes at the upper body side seams.

Handmade artisan glass buttons

Our buttons are all made by a small artisan button manufacturer in Munich, using the same techniques & processes employed 100 years ago.

Integral centre front box pleat detail

The cleverly constructed little box pleat that runs down the dress front is held in place with the rows of chain-linked glass buttons, which can be undone at the top for a less buttoned-up look

The Colbert dress

Absolutely beautiful and exquisite. It’s worth paying for quality. I’m a size 12 and the large fitted perfectly as I don’t like things snug and am a pear shape!

I am blow away by the quality of this dress! It is stunning and the buttons!! Gorgeous!! I am in between a small and medium and so I emailed to ask about sizing help since I wasn't sure about the stretch in the knit. I received such detailed feedback on the size and fit! I am so impressed by the customer service!! I chose the medium (5'5, 123lb 33.5, 26.5, 38.5) and it fits beautifully! I could have gone for the small according to the size information I received,, but I wanted a more traditional 30s look to where it is fitted, but not snug anywhere, just skimming the figure. Additionally, as this is a piece I plan to wear for years to come, choosing the larger size gives me some wiggle room for any potential size fluctuations.. I will definitely be back to purchase more items in the future!

Pay attention to the size chart. I’m a medium all day long but Combelle appears to size for small breasts versus waist & hip. I maybe should have sent the medium back for a large but then it wouldnt have fitted as well at the waist & would have been baggy over my hips; losing some of the beauty of the dress when worn. For reference I’m 97/78/96cm; the dress was easily buttoned but stretched over the bust so the 2 buttons across the widest part didn’t sit as they do on the model although all other buttons did. The dress fitted well at the over & under bust as well as gliding over the form (definitely not tight) at waist & hip. At 5’4”/162cm, the dress hit above mid calf but comfortably below knee which is my preference. the sleeve length is excellent & a neat (again, not tight) fit. The pictures are accurate & the quality is exceptional. The price point means the dress an investment piece (for me) but its a timeless design so I’m confident I’ll get my moneys worth!
